How to Dispatch a Job on the TruckIT Portal

Updated over 2 months ago

In this video, we will show you How to Dispatch a Job.

After you have configured your project sites and payloads in the truck portal, head into any of your current projects. Find the payload you are looking to dispatch and click the dispatch button. This will take you to a new page.

In this new page, your projects are listed on the left, the dispatching screen is displayed in the center, and the list of your fleet and third-party haulers is on the right.

In the dispatching section, you have an optional field for a reference number for internal company use. On the top right, you can choose the date and time for the job.

Next, you'll choose a quantity (for which an unlimited amount is possible by clicking the infinity symbol) and a point of contact for the job that the drivers will have access to. You can also double-check your pickup and drop-off sites here, and edit them if needed.

To add trucks to the Job, you'll choose them either from the My Fleet or Haulers tab on the right-hand side of the page. It is as simple as finding the truck or trucks you want on the job and clicking and dragging them over.

You have the arrow and status bar on individual trucks to let you know if they're added to the current dispatch or the portion of the day they are already dispatched for. Once you've added them to the job, you can adjust their start times to avoid stacking trucks at either a pickup or drop-off site.

Lastly, you can add any notes for this job that the drivers will need to see. Some examples of this would be if a job is paid in full, if there is someone at the site they need to speak with, or a specific entry or exit to a location to use. Once all of your notes are in, click Save job, and the dispatch will go out to all parties.
