In TruckIT, there are several different types of viewing possibilities for projects. A customer is simply a word to keep track of the customer. This customer that you assigned will show up on tickets and is for tracking purposes for your company back office. Customers are added in the settings under Settings > Customers. Select + Add Customer.
A restricted customer is a customer with view-only privileges.
Making a restricted customer is also something done in the settings under Settings > Customers and selecting the box that says MAKE RESTRICTED. When you make a customer restricted, you will need to login to their account through the settings. Select the RESTRICTED CUSTOMERS tab shown in the image below. Click the two arrows circle button under OTHER ACTIONS.
This is the sign-in button, you will be prompted with a question, select yes.
Once in the account you can add a team member by selecting My Company and + ADD USER shown in the image below. When adding a user, you can put a fake email and phone number, the username and password are the only items that are important for logging in.
You will see that there is already a user called default manager.
*******DO NOT DELETE DEFAULT MANAGER*******
Default manager throughout our app must never be deleted.
Once you have added that user, tell your restricted customer their login info (username and password). Password and username do not need to be complex.
Now they can log in to our web portal/mobile app and view the project. This is view-only, they can not change anything or dispatch. They can only view the project.
Granted Access is only available if the company you are granting access to has a paid TruckIT account.
This puts your project inside their projects folder and allows them to add payloads. They can dispatch and have all the functionality as if they had created the project themselves.
You can tell below that a project is granted access because it will say Granted By: and the parent company. Other then that, the project will look identical to how projects usually look and you will have the same functionality that you usually do with projects.
In summary, a customer is simply a name that gets added to projects and tickets. Restricted Customer is a customer with view-only privileges. When a company is Granted Access, that company is able to do anything with that project, dispatch, add payloads. It is as if the project is their own project.
